News, Tips and Advice

Since today is Earth Day and I’ve already done a story on what corporations have been doing for Earth Day I thought I’d write one about what’s going on on the interweb. Here are some interesting stories and events going on throughout the blogosphere and beyond:

  • StumbleUpon and the National Forest Foundation are really pulling out some awesomeness for Earth Day by planting trees for every single thumbs up on this page between now and May 2nd 2008 . This is a great way to do a great thing on Earth Day with out even leaving your desk.
  • Flock has released their Eco-Edition social web browser and I’m really enjoying it. I downloaded it last night at about 12:20am and am using it currently. It’s a great tool for browsing the web and finding out what’s going on in the world of living green. Try it out.
  • I’m sure most of you noticed this one, but Google is rocking a sweet Earth Day graphic. If you miss it here is a direct link to the graphic.
  • Digg.com is calling attention to Earth Day with a sweet Happy Earth Day graphic that invites users to check out the Environmental section.
    Happy Earth Day from Digg.com
  • ThePlanet one of the biggest and best privately owned datacenters and the 4th largest host of websites in the world has written a blog post showing what they’ve done to be more green. They’re on the right track by decreasing energy use by increasing efficiency in cooling which is one the most critical and power consuming area of a data center.

These again are just a few of some of the great things happening on the web today for Earth Day. If you have witnessed anything Earth Day and cool please by all means leave a comment and share with us.
